On-Board Diagnostics (OBD)

On-board diagnostics (OBD) refers to a vehicle's self-diagnostic and reporting capability. OBD systems ensure that the exhaust gas emissions are within the legislative demands. In case of an exhaust gas relevant hardware defect, the driver is informed by means of illuminating the malfunction indicator light (MIL). Furthermore, a diagnostic trouble code is stored, accessable through a standardized digital communication port. Our OBD portfolio contains the following services:

OBD I (electrical)

  • Electrical testing and system evaluation

OBD II (emission related)

  • PVE testing
  • Function calibration
  • Demo testing

Scan Tool Communication

  • Standardization of communication

Fault Path Management

  • Ensure conformity with legislation
