SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS AND PRODUCTS

Magna Powertrain’s software products include FEMFAT, KULI, FEMFAT LAB, MAMBA and MNOISE. These software solutions support engineers to design and develop vehicles and engines that are lightweight, environmentally friendly while reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Magna is a world leader in the automotive industry and a full service supplier providing unique software.

FEMFAT

FEMFAT is a universally applicable software program for the fatigue analysis of statically and/or dynamically loaded components and complete systems. Based on stresses from finite element analysis, FEMFAT delivers analysis results such as fatigue life or damage as well as safety factors. This enables the identification of lightweight design potentials as well as potential weak spots already at an early product development phase.

KULI
KULI energy management software supports engineers to design and optimize cooling and A/C systems for conventional and alternative powertrains. All components are designed to operate within their designated temperature ranges for all relevant vehicle operating points, driving cycles and ambient conditions.

FEMFAT LAB
The software product FEMFAT LAB offers many possibilities for the analysis of measurement and load data. Additionally it provides methods and modules to connect results from measurement and simulation. With these modules both the excitation of a dynamic simulation and optimized model parameters based on measured road loads can be determined.

MAMBA
The MAMBA software package provides solutions for the dynamic simulation of jointed structures like car bodies or bolted frames. Based on streamlined simulation models the engineer is capable to determine accurate dynamic responses considering contact loads within reasonable time.

MNOISE
MNOISE supports the engineer in the acoustic evaluation of components based on Finite Element (FE) simulations. In the pre-processing mode MNOISE automatically generates load data tables and calls the subsequent FE analysis. After finishing the FE analysis MNOISE collects the simulation results and evaluates acoustic measures in the post-processing mode. Acoustic hotspots can be detected and critical areas can be identified for further improvement. The meshing excitation of spur gears can be simulated by MNOISE gear module.
